Pain Management

Acupuncture's ability to relieve acute and chronic pain has been well documented.  The World Health Organization (WHO) published an article claiming that "...acupuncture analgesia works better than a placebo for most kinds of pain, and its effective rate in the treatment of chronic pain is comparable with that of morphine." (download article) The WHO continues: "Because of the side effects of long term drug therapy for pain and the risks of dependence, acupuncture analgesia can be regarded as the method of choice for treating many chronically painful conditions.”  Acupuncture's lack of side effects is a distinct advantage in treating pain.

TCM can relieve many aches and pains that have been present for years. A patient who has an old disorder may require multiple acupuncture treatments, but patients with newer conditions may be relieved after just one to a few treatments. TCM addresses head, neck, back, lower back, limb, joint, muscle, heart, stomach, lower abdomen, dental and phantom pain, as well as pain associated with menses, shingles, post-surgery, traumatic injury, cancer, etc.  We can effectively treat all pain syndromes.
